Facebook Changes to Business Pages

Has anybody else noticed the recent changes if they manage a business page on Facebook?  It’s driving us and a few of our clients slightly mad!  If you are struggling to work out how to like another business page from your own business page or even how to add a post, then we’d like to share some helpful links.

Up until mid-March 2016, if you wanted to work as your business page you simply clicked on your page on the settings at the top of the page to “use Facebook as…”.

However from April 2016, no matter where you click or how many times you select your business page, your personal profile picture remains in the top right hand side of the screen!

If you click on your page, you can then see all of your page attributes e.g. messages, posts to wall, insights (even though it still shows your personal profile picture in the top right hand side):

If you want to post or share posts as your business page, ensure you select the correct page from the drop down list:

If you want to like other business pages from your own business page, select the “…” button next to “message” and then click on “like as your page”.

Are you missing your old business page wall, where you can share posts from other business pages?  Well, fear not, you can still view this information!  Go to your business page and then from the options on the left hand side select “See Pages Feed”.

    Hi Lisa
This is useful info, however I don’t seem to have a “Like as your Page” option
In fact I’ve ended up with a slightly confused situation as I set up a person page with the same name as the business page, as I could see how to run it otherwise!
I’d also like to link some fb posts to the Linkedin company profile page, but that seems difficult too!

Hi Ginny, The “Like as your Page” can be seen when clicking on the “…” button. To share posts to multiple platforms, try a social media management tool like Hootsuite where you can send the same message to multiple social media platforms. Hope that helps! Lisa
